The stranger at the door was continuously knocking and did not seem to be letting up. In fact he was knocking louder and more frequently. I walked towards the door slowly, partly because I did not know who it was but mostly because it was still pitch black on the ground floor and I did not want to crash into anything and alert the stranger outside. I reached the door and all of a sudden the knocking stopped as if the individual knew I was right on the other side of the door. That made me even more suspicious and I definitely did not want to open the door. I crept up slowly and looked through the peep hole and I did not see anyone only the front steps and the raindrops splashing against the pavement. Whoever it was must have grown tired of waiting for me to answer the door and left. I walked away from the door and as soon as I got a couple of steps away the knocking returned only this time it was more frantic and violent like.
I didn’t know what to think of it or how to explain it but as I stood there with my back towards the wall I felt chills roll u p and down my spine. I felt as if I was frozen stiff and could not move. I did not know whether to go answer the door or ignore it and continue on my task of finding my flashlight or if to go to the door once more and see if the individual was actually there. It took me a while before I was able to come to a decision on what my next move was going to be. I’m not sure if it was because of my curiosity that made me make my decision but I just had to find out who was outside or what was making the knocking at my door. I walked towards the front door with the pounding getting more intense as I walked closer to the door. Instead of just looking through the peep hole I decided to open the door. As I put my hand on the lock to unlatch it the knocking stopped. Once again I quickly unlatched the lock and swung the door open to see if I could catch the individual doing whatever he did last time to as to where I was not able to see him last time, but this time I was able to see what was making the noise and all I could do was stand there in amazement, frozen once again.
